CUSTOMER SPARK #28 - TAXI!
The deeper we get into our project, we're starting to think not just about how we can improve what we're already doing, but how can we add entirely new ways to serve our guests.
One idea that came up was a complimentary airport & hotel shuttle service. As our business has grown, so have the number of out-of-town guests. Quite often, these guests need to head to the airport straight from their meeting at sparkspace. We also have guests who simply need a ride to a nearby hotel. We have traditionally called on the local taxi services, which are maybe 60% reliable. Other times we've called executive transportation/limo companies. They're reliable, but costly.
We did some research and found that we would need a few staff members to obtain a commercial driver's license in order for us to legally transport passengers for our business (even if we don't charge for the service). That requires a written test and a driving test. Not a big deal, but a bit of a time commitment. It would also mean somebody would have to keep their car reasonably clean all the time...no easy task!
We haven't given this spark the 100% thumbs up yet, but it was a great idea that would be of tremendous service to the guests who need it, and we're strongly considering it.
Why this is one of our favorite sparks:
Even though we haven't actually done this yet, the fact that we're now thinking about truly new ways to serve our guests is very exciting. It shows that our staff is invested in looking deeper for new ways to create an unbelievable experience for our customers.
